Mendelssohn was declared to be a great musical child prodigy, “the Mozart of the nineteenth century, the most illuminating of musicians.” The powerful and eloquent Piano Trio No. 1 in D minor, Op. 49 completed in 1839 is recognized as one of his most popular and greatest chamber works.
Mendelssohn Songs—Ms. Philibosian sings a selection of haunting Mendelssohn melodies set to words of the great German poets Goethe, Heine and Hungarian-Austrian poet Lenau.
